1 cup sugar
3 tablespoons corn starch
1 pinch salt
2 - 2 1/2 cups water
1 tablespoon butter
1 shot brandy (or bourbon)
Mix cornstarch and water. Add sugar and salt. Bring to a boil until transparent an thick. Add butter and brandy.
Yield: Enough for all the pieces of a mincemeat pie.
