EasyShop Shop Designer Install Instructions ============================================ [Use your browser's back button to return.] [See bottom for latest troublshooting info.] I have had a few emails regarding this software not having all the files or the setup program not working correctly. In every case I have been able to download and set up the program without any problem whatsoever. Just take it slowly and follow the steps and everything will turn out. The key things to watch for are that (a) you have the correct software for unzipping the file (it is a compressed group of files actually), and (b) you access the correct file, after unzipping, for startup. All of the problems I have been asked about have been attributed to installing the wrong file, some problem with the unzip utility, or (in very few cases) the user's operating system. Follow the instructions and enjoy. Life is good. Work wood! 1. Click on link to download. 2. Select a file location on your hard drive. 3. Download. 4. Using windows explorer, find the directory where you downloaded the file. 5. Use a program like WinZip to 'unzip' the compressed file. Do this into a new directory if possible so you can keep all the parts together. An evaluation copy of WinZip can be downloaded for free from: http://www.winzip.com/ 6. Find the 'Shpdsgsu.exe' application file and double click it. 7. Follow the instructions on the screen as to where to install etc. 8. That should do it. Just go to your startup menu and find the 'EasyShop Series' program group and click. Then click on 'Shop Designer' to start. Troubleshooting the Shop Designer ================================= Here I will include additions sent in by my readers where they have managed to figure out installation problems. Feb 2003 - Lynn Grant reports that when using WinZip 8.0, installation problems may be encountered. Check the Misc. tab under the Options menu and make sure that you UNCHECK the "Enable Desktop/Theme Screen Saver Installer" box. Then the program unzips perfectly. ___________________________________________________ (c)2003 Howard Ruttan - howard@inthewoodshop.org
